Chapter 1: The Nature of the Soul
✨What is Soul?
The body is mortal, the soul is immortal.
🔥 Main qualities of the soul
The main aim of the soul is to realize its true nature and reconnect with God. When the soul starts thinking of itself as just a body, it gets caught in the web of attachment, ego, anger, and sorrow. But when the soul becomes aware and searches for the answer to 'Who am I?' , then its journey towards salvation begins.
💡 Can soul be proved by science?
Although no scientific instrument has been made to see the soul directly, many proofs of its existence are found in our experiences and behavior:
Where does that consciousness go as soon as the body dies? That is the soul.
There is evidence for the presence of the soul in dreams, past life memories, and near-death experiences (NDEs).

The soul is the core of our being - it is a part of God, which can be experienced, understood, but cannot be bound. The body is an instrument, the soul is its essence. Only when we recognize our soul, our life becomes meaningful and divine.
Chapter 2: The birth of the soul and its relation to God
The origin of the soul
Goswami Tulsidas ji says - "The living being which is a part of God is indestructible, conscious, pure and a source of natural happiness."
The soul does not originate from any physical process—it comes into existence as a part of God.
From the Supreme Soul emerge countless souls like rays of light—independent consciousnesses whose purpose is to experience, evolve and ultimately merge back into God. The soul is neither created nor can be destroyed. It is unborn and indestructible .
🌌 Relationship between soul and God
The relationship between God and soul is the same as that between the ocean and its drop.
The soul is God's child—love, joy, peace and consciousness are His inheritance.
God is omnipresent, omniscient and omnipotent, while the soul travels with limited experiences.
When the soul is connected to God, it is in a divine state. When it moves away from God (due to attachment, ego, desires), it wanders in the world.
The process of sending the soul into the world
When the universe is created, God sends his infinite souls into various bodies (yoins) in the world. These souls do not go voluntarily – they are born based on the accumulated karmas of their previous lives.
This process can be understood in three parts:
Karmic Blueprint: The account of the accumulated karmas of the soul from its previous births is prepared according to the cosmic laws (Rita)*. (* "Rita" means " the order of the world ". It is also called the natural law.)
Suitable Body: God or Nature (Maya) gives that soul a place in the same body where it can enjoy the fruits of its deeds – like human being, animal, bird, insect etc.
Opportunity for Evolution: This life is a test for the soul – where it can rectify its karma, gain self-realization, and reconnect with God.
🔁 Does this happen only once?
No. The soul completes the cycle of many births (reincarnation). This cycle continues until the soul recognizes its origin and attains salvation. This is called 'Bhavachakra' or 'cycle of birth and death'.
🌀 Does the soul take decisions on its own?
The soul's karma determines its path. God only plays the role of a judge - he does not punish anyone, he only dispenses justice. The laws of nature give direction to the soul.
🔔 Why does the soul wander?
When the soul drowns in attachment, pleasure, and ego, it forgets its true nature. This is "maya" - that which misleads the soul. God repeatedly makes us aware of this through holy scriptures, Sadgurus, and enlightenment.

The soul is a part of God – it is the epitome of divinity. When the soul comes into this world due to its karmas, this journey is an opportunity for it – to learn, understand and ultimately attain salvation. Chapter 3: Birth, Rebirth and the Species
🌱What is birth?
Birth is not just the beginning of a body, but the beginning of a new journey of the soul. When the soul leaves its old body, it stays in a subtle state for some time, then it gets a new body according to its karma. This is birth – a new vehicle for the soul, a new opportunity.
🔁What is reincarnation?
Rebirth means the soul leaving one body and entering another body. Just as we take off old clothes and wear new ones, similarly the soul leaves the old body and wears a new one.
It is said in the Srimad Bhagavad Gita: “For death is certain for the born: birth is certain for the dead.” (What is born is certain to die, and what is dead is certain to be born again.)
⚖️Why does rebirth happen?
Reincarnation is the result of the soul's unfulfilled desires, incomplete karma and the process of purification. When the soul has:
The fruits of all the deeds of the past lives would not have been experienced,
Or if he has not attained God, then he has to be born again.
🌀 In how many types of species can a soul take birth?
According to Hindu scriptures, there are 84 lakh yonis. There are four major categories of these:
Deva Yoni (Devine beings): Gods, Gandharvas, Apsaras etc. - their life is happy, but the opportunity for salvation is limited.
Human beings: The best form of life - because only humans can achieve salvation by their actions.
Tiryak Yoni (Animals, Birds etc.): Animals, birds, insects etc. – they also have soul, but freedom of knowledge and action is limited.
Hellish beings: Extremely painful beings resulting from sins, where the soul only suffers punishment.
👣 Human life: A priceless opportunity
It is very difficult to get a human birth. “Human birth is not rare, but without wisdom it is useless.” This is an opportunity where the soul:
can improve her actions,
One can do satsang, bhakti and meditation,
can attain God.
🔍 Does the soul remember its previous life?
Generally no. This is God's grace - otherwise it would have been unbearable to bear the burden of every birth. But some special souls, children or accomplished Yogis remember their previous births. Many evidences of this have come to light even in our times.
🕊️When does the soul's journey end?
When the soul is freed from the bondage of its karmas, when it has:
There's no desire left,
There is no resentment left,
And when she gets absorbed in God, then her rebirth ends. This is called Moksha .
🔚 Conclusion:
Birth and rebirth are inevitable stages of the soul's journey. Being trapped in this cycle is the bondage of samsara. Human birth is a precious opportunity - where the soul can move towards its real goal (God realization). If this opportunity is wasted, the soul has to wander in the cycle of births again.
Chapter 4: The Science of Karma Theory
⚖️What is Karma?
Karma means an action , a thought , or a decision. In Hindu philosophy, karma is not only a physical action, but mental and verbal actions are equally effective.
“As you sow, so shall you reap.” — This is the eternal law of karma.
🧭 Three types of karma
In the scriptures, karma is divided into three categories:
Sanchit Karma (Accumulated Actions): It is the storehouse of karmas accumulated from all the births. Every soul has a huge collection of accumulated karmas.
Prarabdha Karma (Destined Actions): These are the karmas whose results are sure to be experienced in this birth. Our birth, family, health, and circumstances are decided on the basis of these.
Ongoing Actions: These are the new actions being performed in the current life. These determine our future and keep getting added to the accumulated Karma.
💫 What are good deeds?
Good (satkarma) deeds are those:
which are done without any selfish motive (nishkam seva),
from which someone may find benefit, peace or inspiration,
which is based on religion, truth, compassion, and love,
Through which the soul comes closer to God.
Example: Feeding the hungry, helping them, listening to satsang, speaking the truth, maintaining restraint, doing devotion.
🌪️What are bad deeds?
Bad (mischievous) actions are:
that causes pain – physical, mental or emotional,
who are motivated by greed, anger, attachment, ego,
those who are associated with injustice, deceit, or violence,
Which takes the soul away from God.
Examples: lying, stealing, violence, insulting others, drinking alcohol, indulging in addiction.
🧘 Relation between karma and soul
Karma leaves an impact on the soul – like dust on glass. When good karma is done, the soul becomes clean and radiant. When bad karma is done, the soul is covered with a veil of ignorance and sin. This is bondage – which keeps the soul away from liberation.
🔁 Can one run away from one's actions?
No. The results of karma are certain. If the results are not experienced in a birth, the soul has to be born again. God does justice, not punishment. He only provides the soul with the circumstances that are earned by its karma.
🔄 Can good deeds erase old sins?
Yes, just as light dispels darkness, true repentance and good deeds weaken old sins. Devotion, service and self-knowledge help in breaking the chains of karma.
🔚 Conclusion:
Karma is the basis of life. What we are today is the result of our past karmas . What we do today will shape our future . Therefore, we must be cautious in every thought, every word and every action – because they lead to the growth or downfall of the soul.
Chapter 5: The path to salvation and God-realisation
🌈What is salvation?
Moksha means the soul getting free from the cycle of birth and death and getting absorbed in God. It is not a place, but a state where there is no sorrow, no fear, no desire, no ego. It is a state of complete liberation of the soul , complete peace and complete happiness .
The Upanishads say: "Yo vai bhuma tatsukham. Naalpe sukhamasti." (That which is infinite is true happiness. There is no happiness in the finite.)
🌟 Why is salvation necessary?
When the soul gets tired of wandering in countless births, then it knows that permanent peace is only in God. In the world:
Happiness is momentary,
Relationships are temporary,
The body is mortal,
And the desires are limitless.
Salvation is the name of rising above all this.
🛤️ Path to salvation: Means to attain God
To attain salvation the soul has to practice some main methods:
1. Adherence to truth and dharma
To follow the truth in life,
Practicing justice, compassion, and moderation— this is the foundation of salvation.
Mahatma Gandhi said: "Truth is God."
2. Nishkam Karma Yoga (duty without desire for reward)
Keep doing your work, but offer its fruits to God.
No regrets about the past, no worries about the future — just action in the present.
It is said in Srimad Bhagavad Gita: "Karmanyevadhikaraste ma phaleshu kadachana.
(Your right is only to perform your actions. You have no right over the fruits of your actions. Therefore, do not constantly meditate on the fruits of your actions and do not become inactive.)
3. Bhakti Yoga (worship of God with love)
Through devotion the soul gets directly connected to God.
There are no rules for true devotion.
Love, faith, and surrender—this is true devotion.
Tulsidas says: "Prem bhakti jal binu Raghupati nahin pigalhin manu.
Only knowledge, worship, yajna, rules etc. are not enough to please God or to bring Him into our mind – unless there is the water of love in devotion , God's heart does not melt.
4. Jnana Yoga (discriminative realization of the soul and God)
“I am not the body, I am the soul” – when this realization becomes permanent, then ignorance ends.
Only through self-knowledge, bonds are broken and salvation comes closer.
5. Satsang and Guru's grace
Satsang (association of true knowledge) gives direction to the soul.
The path is difficult without a Guru, because the Guru is the ladder to reach God.
6. Meditation and introspection
Through meditation the mind becomes calm and the soul turns inward.
The more peaceful the mind is, the closer the soul is to God.
🕊️What is the state of salvation like?
The soul is free – it does not have to be born again.
She becomes the embodiment of joy , the embodiment of peace , and the embodiment of knowledge .
She becomes absorbed in God – like a drop of water merges into the ocean.
🔚 Conclusion:
Moksha is the ultimate goal of the soul. It is not a fantasy, but a natural tendency of the soul – like the river finally merging with the ocean. Devotion, knowledge, service and meditation – these four means of attaining God together take the soul to the ultimate goal where there is only love, peace and eternal truth.
Chapter 6: The Illusion of Maya and the Self
🌫️What is Maya?
Maya is the power that hides the truth and makes the unreal seem real. It is a mysterious energy of God that confuses the soul.
Example: Just as everything seems true in a dream - but on waking up everything seems unreal, similarly this world is also an illusion - which appears trivial and momentary to the awakened soul.
🌀 Why does the soul get away from God?
When the soul comes under the influence of Maya, then it...
She forgets her true nature - that she is an immortal, blissful soul.
She considers the body, mind and senses as her 'self' .
She considers worldly pleasures as her ultimate goal.
All this is the play of Maya—which binds the soul in glamour, attachment, and ego.
🪞 The two main effects of Maya
1. Veiling Power
It veils the truth. — The soul cannot see its true nature, the existence of God, and the path to salvation.
2. Projecting Power
It turns falsehood into truth. - The soul begins to search for its identity in the body, wealth, relations, ego, lust, anger, etc.
🔄 How does the cycle of Maya work?
The soul gets trapped in illusion.
She is attracted towards pleasure and luxury.
She does good and bad deeds.
He has to take birth again to suffer the consequences of his actions.
This cycle is called “Bhavachakra” or “Samsara Chakra” .
This cycle continues until the soul awakens.
🔓 How to get freedom from Maya?
Light the lamp of knowledge – know that “I am not the body, I am the soul”.
Drink the water of devotion – love and surrender to God.
Change your company – stay in good company, keep company with gentlemen.
Leave ego – whatever is there is God's grace.
Control your senses – Keep your mind steady through self-restraint and meditation.
🧘 When does the soul awaken?
When a question arises from within— “Who am I?” “Is this life?” “Where is true happiness?” —then the soul tries to come out of Maya.
This awakening is the beginning of liberation.
📜 Conclusion:
Maya is not an evil power, but a power of temptation. It confuses us – so that we can break that illusion with knowledge, devotion and wisdom. Only the soul that recognizes Maya can overcome it and move towards union with God.
Chapter 7: The Ultimate Aim of Life
Why have I got life?
As simple as this question seems, the answer is quite profound.
The purpose of life is not to eat, sleep, work or raise a family. All these are means , not the purpose.
The real purpose of life is to complete the journey of the soul and reach God.
🎯 Four-fold purpose of life (purushartha)
Indian philosophy describes four main aims of life:
Dharma (duty): Truth, non-violence, compassion, justice, moderation and service—all these make life stable.
Artha (wealth earned through virtue): Wealth that is earned through the path of religion and is used for charity.
Kama (pure desires): A restrained and limited form of desire - not lust, but good will.
Moksha (liberation): This is the ultimate and supreme goal—complete freedom of the soul and union with God.
⚰️What is death?
Death is the end of the body, not of the soul. Death is just like discarding old clothes. The soul then enters a new body – according to its deeds.
Srimad Bhagavad Gita says: "Na jayate mriyate va kadachit... The soul is neither born nor dies.
Death reminds us that time is limited—so self-realization has to be done now.
🪔 Then what is the ultimate purpose of life?
Attainment of God.
Where the soul is in perfect bliss,
Where there is no birth or death,
Where there is knowledge, love and peace – that is salvation.
All the events of life, its struggles, its relationships, its joys and sorrows – all are a lesson so that the soul can mature and become worthy of God.
🕊️How to understand that we are on the right track?
When the ego is diminishing,
When service brings joy,
When you feel peace within,
When the remembrance of God remains in every task – then understand that the soul is moving towards its purpose.
🔚 Conclusion:
Life is an opportunity for the soul to return to its true home (God). This journey is not accomplished alone, but with love, devotion, and wisdom. Every moment of a person who realizes this truth becomes meaningful. That person becomes free while living – this is the ultimate purpose of life .

“You are not an ordinary body, you are light itself, a part of God.”

Bondage – Lust, ego and karmas bind the soul.
The cycle of suffering , birth and death, happiness and sadness continued.

Sadhana – The soul recognized itself through religion, devotion, meditation and service.
Union —When the veil of ignorance fell, the soul merged with God.
🕊️What does the soul want?
Neither wealth, nor fame, nor physical beauty. He wants -
Calmness
Durability
Love
And finally— the embrace of God
🌱 Why is this knowledge necessary?
Because if we forget that we are soul, then we will consider every sorrow as the final one, turn every success into pride, and convert every failure into remorse.
But when we remember that we are souls
— Then life becomes divine.

Eternal dialogue between soul and god:-
When the soul completes its journey of karma and meets God,
it is clearly shown all the good and bad deeds it has done.
If the soul has done good deeds in life, it experiences deep joy and pride,
and God praises it and gives it a place in his presence.
But when the soul looks at the sins it has committed,
Then she is filled with remorse and guilt.
Then God justly rewards her according to her deeds,
due to which the soul suffers punishment in the next life.
